Originally educated as an electrical engineer at Georgia Tech, Stephen’s life took an unexpected turn, leading him to reconsider the direction of his life. It’s a story you have to hear for yourself. After earning a master’s in theology, Stephen helped start a relevant and vibrant church in the inner city of Dallas, Texas. While a student, he founded and was CEO of LIFE-Love is For Everybody, a program that emphasized showing God’s love in practical ways. Stephen also mentored mentally challenged adolescents. Feeling called to help those with addictions, Stephen’s experience with growing new, exciting, and relevant programs in that field has become his strong suit.

During his nearly twenty years of experience in the field, in addition to holding a private practice as a counselor, and serving as program director for several substance abuse programs, he also helped launch substance abuse treatment programs in Dallas, Denton, and McKinney, Texas, and in Lawrenceville, Cumming, and Atlanta, Georgia. These included adult and adolescent outpatient, opiate treatment, and adult and adolescent anger management programs. He also worked as a counselor with The Road Adventure-an experiential weekend for adolescents originally created by Dr. Phil McGraw.
